能源环境工程研究中心隶属于中国科学院大连化学物理研究所/大连洁净能源国家实验室节能与环境研究部，是在原能源环境工程研究组的基础上于2012年1月重新整合构建而成。中心现已设立能源环境工程研究组(DNL0901)、分布式制氢研究组（DNL0907）、催化燃烧研究组(DNL0908)、大气污染物催化净化研究组(DNL0909)和系统能量优化及新型储热研究组(DNL0910)等五个研究组，现任中心主任为王树东研究员。

中心目前主要从事化学工程领域的应用基础研究、过程开发及系统集成工作，围绕洁净能源生产利用以及气体污染治理两大主题，以化工过程强化为技术手段，高质量完成国家/企业重大研究任务，解决国家能源高效洁净利用过程中的重大科技难题。

能源环境工程研究中心现有全职职工17人，包括中国科学院院士1人，正高级研究人员5人，副高级研究人员10人，中级研究人员1人。

The Research Center for Energy and Environmental Engineering (RC3E), which was established on the basis of the former Group of Energy and Environment Engineering in January, 2012, is a branch of Division of Energy Environmental Engineering of Dalian National Laboratory for Clean Energy (DNL) / Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (DICP, CAS). Now it consists of five groups that include Energy and Environmental Engineering Group (DNL0901), Distributed Hydrogen Production Group (DNL0907), Catalytic Combustion Group (DNL0908), Catalytic Purification of Air Pollutants Group (DNL0909) and System Energy Optimization & Heat Storage Materials Group (DNL0910). The present director of the RC3E is Prof. Wang Shudong.

The RC3E primarily focuses on basic research into chemical reaction engineering， new process development as well as system integration. It is mainly engaged in solving the energy & environmental problems by means of advanced process intensification technologies of chemical engineering.
